Freelance Author, Writing and Career Coach

You know the “what”… let me help with the “how.”

All of us need help from time to time to give shape to our ideas, whether that means:

  • Getting “unstuck” with an article or proposal (“I just can’t get started…”)

  • Looking at the bigger picture of our brand (“Why would people want to hire me? I’m no one special…”)

  • Learning to write with a clear, authentic voice (“I have no idea what I mean…”)

  • Identifying when to up-skill, re-skill, pivot, or stay the course (“How do I tell if this is working?”)

  • Figuring out what we have to say, and

    why it is important

At the end of the day… writing is about uncovering what you want to say, and saying it with the most effective tools possible.

I believe anyone who truly sees you, who can help you identify what makes you special, has the power to help you become a better communicator.

Let’s figure out your story, and the rest will follow.

“Thanks to Dr. Gerbi’s mentorship and advice I was able to land my dream position as a full-time faculty member at Berklee College of Music. She took me through the ins and outs of the interview process including zoom interview tips, negotiation tactics, and reading resources. She is warm and knowledgeable, and she gave me the confidence and motivation to present my best self to the search committee. I would not be here without Dr. Gerbi!”

Spencer Bambrick, Emmy-Nominated Composer

“Over the years I have written and re-written my musician bio more times than I care to remember and found the activity overly time consuming and a bit stressful. I had never hired a writer before, but I learned that Elizabeth was helping artists with their bios, and I jumped at the chance to obtain her help. (I have had the privilege of knowing Elizabeth as a music colleague for the past decade. In addition to being a great writer, she is a top notch musician and college professor.) Elizabeth did an excellent job. She was able to describe what I do far better than I could, and much more concisely. She got everything done very quickly; a long bio, short bio and a group project bio, and her rate was less than I expected. Suffice to say, she exceeded my expectations in every way!”

Helen Avakian, Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter

“Elizabeth and I co-authored the book Bob Marks' 88 Keys to Successful Singing Performances, which was published in December 2020. Elizabeth was able to masterfully take information from our conversations, articles I've written, my website, tweets, and classes I've taught, blending them into what became the finished book. She was always a pleasure to work with, knowledgeable, efficient, and methodical. I recommend her highly”

Bob Marks, Broadway Vocal Coach

"I have worked alongside Elizabeth G. as well as observed her in action, and she is a force of nature. Her superb teaching skills with both individuals and groups, incisive-yet-accessible writing, and ability to see the big picture as well as the detail make her an amazing resource. She is caring and practical in her dealings with students and colleagues, while maintaining the highest professional standards.”

— Ann Foster, Voice Instructor, Choral Conductor

“We have hired Elizabeth as a writer for two weekly newsletters to engage our audience of artists. She has provided wonderful, appropriate, thoughtful, meaningful content in a timely manner. We are thrilled that we found her! I highly recommend Elizabeth!”

— Helen Dannelly, Catalyst Art Lab
